I’m Sarah Sherman Samuel and Smitten Studio is the lifestyle and design blog where I show-and-share my stories and stylings for living a well designed life.

With a camera always in hand… on a designing day, I might give you a peek of a graphic print or pattern I applied to a new product. On a “making” day, I could be sharing a project in progress or a look into the workshop where many of my pieces are made. On a traveling day you might just find a gem of a place to stay on your next trip. And on a styling day I might share an event I’ve had the pleasure to concept and bring to life with some of my favorite creative friends and collaborators (though, I only call one of them “Dad.”)

Oh! And on a sunny day in the near future, I plan to give you a glimpse into a new collection I’m creating, of modern-heirloom wares. For now it’s still under wraps, but I can’t wait to share with you. Launching this collection will feel like a sunny moment, indeed. My passion and experience in design has taken me from a stint in advertising, to 5 years of building a fashion paper line as the creative director at greenroom, to now leaving that nine-to-five, in order to dedicate more time to developing my own line of special objects with meaning. // A LITTLE HISTORY //

Sarah grew up dreaming, creating, and running around outside on Michigan’s west coast. After earning her bachelor’s degree in graphic design she headed to the sunny coast of California where she’s still dreaming, creating, and running around outside with her husband, Rupert, and their two rescue pups Pikku and Cracker. One of their latest adventures include renovating a cabin in her old stomping grounds on the shores of Lake Michigan, as seen on Design Sponge.

With her graphic design background and a fashion influence, Sarah applies the graphic design principles into the roles of maker, stylist, and creative director.

Sarah is available for hire for collaborating, concepting, designing and styling with her nostalgic-meets-modern, fashion meets-nature, and design-meets-life aesthetic.
